3D Mapping & Reality Capture

We go to the site and capture it — drone LiDAR, mobile mapping, ground penetrating radar, as-built survey — then turn what comes back into terrain, city, asset and sub-surface models you can measure against.

What this service owns

Producing the geometry — establishing what is physically there, above ground and below it.

Most spatial work stalls at the handover between whoever surveyed the site and whoever has to use the result. Doing both halves ourselves is how we avoid it: the survey is planned around the deliverable, and the deliverable arrives in a form your team can already open.

Where our Urban Analytics & Smart City service interrogates how a place behaves, this one establishes what is physically there.

What you get

  • A measurable 3D model of the site, not a folder of raw scans
  • Open formats — OGC 3D Tiles, GeoJSON, LAS, IFC — into the system you already run
  • A browser link anyone can open, with no licence and no training
  • Accuracy validated against survey control, with the residuals documented
Drone LiDAR over a working site — field capture through to a model you can open in a browser.

How we capture it

Drone LiDAR & Photogrammetry

Aerial capture of sites, corridors and building exteriors, flown to the point density the deliverable actually needs rather than to a fixed spec.

Mobile Mapping

Vehicle-mounted scanning for road networks and long corridors, covering ground at driving speed instead of one static setup at a time.

Ground Penetrating Radar

Sub-surface survey of buried water, gas, telecommunications and electrical runs, georeferenced against the surface scan so depth and clearance are readable in three dimensions rather than inferred from a flat schematic.

As-Built Building Survey

Terrestrial laser scanning of interiors and structures where the drawings on file no longer match what was actually built.

Existing Imagery & Records

Where capture is unnecessary, we work from satellite and aerial imagery, prior survey records and your existing 2D layers.

What we produce

3D Terrain & City Modeling

Ground surface, built form and asset geometry, modelled to the level of detail the downstream job needs and no further.

Sub-Surface Utility Models

GPR traces and existing 2D pipe schematics reconciled into georeferenced 3D utility runs, so a crew can see depth and clearance before a shovel goes in.

2D-to-3D Conversion

Existing plans, survey records and flat GIS layers rebuilt as measurable 3D geometry.

Feature Extraction & Classification

Machine learning applied to captured point clouds and imagery to identify and classify features automatically instead of by hand.

Virtual Environments

Navigable 3D environments built from the captured model, for design review, training and public engagement.

GIS Database Design & Migration

Schema design, data migration and format conversion, so what we produce lands in the system you already run.

Quality Control & Assurance

Registration accuracy checked and validated against survey control, with the residuals documented alongside the deliverable.

Formats, and one honest limit

Everything we produce exports to open formats — OGC 3D Tiles, GeoJSON, scene layer packages, industry-standard point cloud and CAD exchange formats — so the output feeds back into whatever GIS or asset system you already run rather than stranding you in ours.

A note on sub-surface work, because it is worth being straight about: a 3D utility model with real depth on it is a substantial improvement over a 2D schematic and paint on the road, and it addresses the largest single cause of buried infrastructure damage, which is excavation done badly around utilities whose position was misread. It does nothing at all for the second largest cause, which is digging without requesting a locate in the first place. It supplements your locate process; it does not replace it.

Tell us what you need captured.

Send the site, the corridor or the building and what you need to do with it afterwards, and we will come back with a method, a duration and a price.
